Postdoctoral Fellow Position in MR Elastography
The Gruss Magnetic Resonance Research Center (MRRC) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, in collaboration with the Rudi Schulte Research Institute and Montefiore Medical Center, is seeking a full-time postdoctoral research associate to work in a new program focusing on MR Elastography in pediatric hydrocephalus. Our lab is interested in understanding the role which brain elasticity plays in disease progression and the occurrence of chronic headache, as it relates to CSF drainage disorders and slit ventricle syndrome. The position will be for a 3 year period.

Candidates should have a PhD in physics, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline, a strong background in MR physics and pulse sequence programming (Philips sequence environment preferred), and expertise in image processing and data analysis. Programming experience should include the commonly used packages, such as C++, Matlab, and FSL. The candidate should have significant experience in imaging in a clinical setting and a strong background in the development and/or application of novel methods for human brain imaging, such as DTI/fMRI/structural MRI data analyses. Prior experience with MR Elastography is not necessary, but candidates with such experience will be given preference. The candidate will be expected to be involved in all aspects of the project, including sequence and hardware design, image and data analysis, statistical analysis, as well as interfacing with the clinical team for patient recruitment and scheduling. Competitive salary and benefits will be offered based on qualifications.

The Gruss MRRC is located on the main campus of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY. We are focused on clinical and pre-clinical neuroimaging applications, with particular expertise in DTI imaging and analysis methods. In addition to the exciting work related to the MRE project, fellows will have adequate opportunities to participate in many other projects going on at Einstein. The Center has a multinuclear 3.0 Tesla Whole Body Philips Achieva (Dual TX, 32 Channel head coil) human system and a 9.4 T Direct Drive Varian animal system. Image processing facilities including a computing cluster, multiple Linux workstations and PCs with imaging and general software installed.
