[Dtistudio-users] multiple b-value question

Greetings dtistudio users:

I'm working with some archival 1.5T DTI data that was acquired with
multiple b-values (0, 160, 360, 640, 1000 s/mm2). I have some
experience with DTI analysis-but haven't worked with a multiple b-value
acquisition before.

I'm wondering if it is ok to simply use the highest b-value (1000) for
analysis, or if it's truly better to combine the two highest bvalues
(640, 1000) when concatenating the diffusion data? I understand that
there's a theoretical argument for increased SNR w/multiple b-values,
but I wondering if combining b-values appreciably increases SNR,
empirically?

Any thoughts are much appreciated!
